To bring families and friends back to the table for their evening meals. Some of my fondest memories revolve around food and dinner time. A study found the only thing National Merit Scholars have in common is that they sat down as a family to eat dinner. Family and cooking are my passions, what a wonderful way to combine them, providing an economical, healthy alternative to fast food.
My love of cooking began at a very young age, sitting on the counter “helping” my Mother. I never remember a time I wasn’t cooking. What an incredible blessing to know your passion from such a young age. I was a feature as the “Cook of the Week” in my local newspaper at the ripe old age of 12. I am a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. While in college I ran a small catering business with my college roommate “Starving Students Catering”.
After graduation I went to the CIA in Hyde Park, NY, I graduated as the valedictorian of my class with high honors. While at the CIA I met my future husband Dave Hermann. Yet another blessing in my life; meeting someone who shares my passion for family and food. Dave and I opened The Range at the Barton House in 1997 shortly after we married. It has been like a child in many ways. However our greatest blessings are our actual children; twins, Joseph and David and our newest addition Luke.
Our family knows all about busy schedules! Mealtime Mastered is a true mission to help families connect. |
